THE PROGRAM

Our educational program is designed to teach social and emotional skills to children through structured play and collaborative storytelling. Our facilitators use and customize an evidence-based curriculum to provide just the right balance of safety, structure and fun.

Our Approach

This educational program uses guided play to teach and promote social-emotional skills to children in a friendly, fun, and safe environment. Over multiple iterations of the program in the United States, we have developed our own system based on the DIRFloortime® method . Using this system, our facilitators guide children through a narrative adventure customized to their interests and designed to foster social growth, teamwork, and communication.

Through the program, children learn:

  • Emotional Regulation

  • Impulse Inhibition

  • Conversational Reciprocity

  • Collaboration and Negotiation

  • Creativity

  • Planning and Strategy

  • Empathy, Listening and Emotional Sensitivity

  • Commitment, Conflict Resolution

  • Restorative Practices

These narrative adventures are tailored to meet the individual needs of each group and are played in weekly 90-minute sessions. In collaboration with parents and schools, we form groups of four children based on their age, interests, and developmental level. Each group will embark on one or more collaborative campaigns, each lasting eight 90-minute sessions over two months. The price per child per session is €33, which means the full program cycle costs €264. We also offer discounts for the educational centers and associations with which we collaborate.

Our Methodology

We use an individualized assessment system to monitor each child's progress, adapting the program to their development at all times. Throughout the program, we maintain an open communication channel with families, informing them of their children's progress weekly. At the end of the program, each family will receive a summary report detailing their child's progress and collecting qualitative observations from the sessions.

We also collaborate with psychologists and psychiatrists who wish to implement our program with their patients. We provide qualitative observations that enrich their clinical practice and offer a safe space where children can practice, experiment, and consolidate the skills they develop in other therapeutic or educational settings. Through storytelling adventures, we transform learning into meaningful experiences, facilitating the natural integration of social skills into their daily lives.

Who is it for?

La Tarasca is a program designed for any child who could benefit from enriching their social-emotional development. It is especially suitable for those who encounter obstacles in establishing and maintaining friendships, communicating confidently, and enjoying social interaction with their peers.

Our approach is particularly useful for children who have difficulties in social interaction, such as shyness , impulsiveness , low frustration tolerance or difficulties interpreting social signals .

In addition, the program is designed to address the specific needs of children with:

  • High intellectual abilities

  • Double or triple exceptionality

  • ADD/ADHD

  • TORCH

  • Dyslexia

Through a Flexible and child-centered approach, our highly trained facilitators work closely with children to enhance their skills in key areas such as:

  • Conversational reciprocity

  • Collaboration and negotiation

  • Creativity and problem solving

  • Empathy, active listening and emotional sensitivity

  • Commitment and conflict resolution

Our program provides a safe, structured space where children can develop these skills through guided interactions and symbolic play. Results have shown that this approach greatly benefits children with social challenges, helping them gain confidence and improve their skills for forming healthy, lasting relationships .

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How are the groups formed?
We form the groups according to three factors: the child's interests, their age and their stage of socio-emotional development (according to the definition of Stanley Greenspan and Serena Wieder, promoters of the DIRFloortime method).

  • Where do the sessions take place?
The sessions take place in the spaces indicated on the map at the bottom of the page; in the centre of Granada and the surrounding area. We also deliver the programme in the schools with which we collaborate.

  • Should I tell my child that it's a social skills class?
That's up to you! Many children who have been through various clinical circuits end up frustrated when they feel that everyone is trying to ‘fix’ them. One of the advantages of our programme is that because it is not a clinical intervention, but an educational one, it is always presented as a place to play, have fun and make friends, so it can be presented to young children as a fun activity.

  • When do the sessions take place and how long does the programme last?
Sessions are held once a week during the afternoons from Monday to Friday and on weekends. A cycle of the programme lasts 8 weeks.

  • Can my child continue after the first cycle of 8 sessions?
Yes, after achieving the objectives of the first programme we have other cycles that work on the areas that have been developed in the first one.

  • What happens if my child misses a session?
In case of absence we grant a session free of charge for future cycles.

  • Are there any discounts available?
Yes, we offer discounts for associations, educational centres and therapists with whom we collaborate.
